National Democratic Action Society “Waad” offers its deepest condolences to the family of young martyr Ali Abbas Radhi (16 years old) and to the people of Bahrain.
The diseased passed away on 9 November 2012 in a traffic accident in the Northern Governorate area, where riot police prevented worshippers from reaching the Friday Prayers at Al Sadeq Mosque in Diraz. Security forces subjected areas to siege and repression, as they used excessive force via tear gas and chasings, resulting in a general state of chaos and confusion.
Waad condemns the prevention of worshipers from reaching the site where they sought to pray, a right protected by the Constitution, all customs, religions and relevant international treaties related to freedom of movement and practice of religious rites.
Moreover, Waad demands a transparent investigation to reveal the reasons that led to the martyrdom of young Ali Abbas Radhi, and holding accountable those responsible for his death.
The violations that took place today emphasize the need to depart the security approach towards the deepening freedom crisis in Bahrain, and stress the necessity of taking bold decisions to begin a serious and meaningful dialogue to rescue the country.
