waad's Political Office Statement Corroborating the Peacefulness of the Movement & Rejecting Calls for Violence

“Waad” The National Action Democratic Society followed with concern the repercussions of the situation in Syria, and its transformation to violence and excessive use of force and murder by the Syrian regime. The Syrian government reached the point of using advanced weapons such as tanks and anti-aircraft and naval weapons to silence the voice of the Syrian people who yearn for justice, freedom, dignity and democracy, after decades ofcorrupted dictatorshipthat has workedto silencethe oppositions by force and at any cost.

Up till today, thousands of martyrs were falling since the Syrian revolution started, murdered by the Syrian security system and its militiamen the “Shabiha”.

What the regime and its security systems have done of flagrant violation of human rights in Syria against unarmed demonstrators, is justified by the existence of hidden forces responsible for the murders everyday as Syrian government announced. However, the world cannot be deceived by these fabricated facts especially with nowadays open media which exposes the daily atrocities crimes carried out by the Syrian army and its security systems in Homs, Latakia, Dara, Damascus and its countryside.

"Waad" strongly condemns the way the Syrian regime quell the peaceful demonstrations and the over-deliberate use of force and live bullets to kill and wound unarmed demonstrators, and sends its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the martyrs and victims, and supports the peaceful Syrian revolution urging for Democracy, justice, freedom and the achievement of the civil state. And also emphasizes on the right of the Syrian people to peacefully protest and express their opinions of which should be protected by the Syrian authorities.

While "Waad" condemns the violence perpetrated by the Syrian regime against unarmed people, it also strongly condemns the bombings in Damascus that killed dozens of innocent people. The Syrian government should be aware of the revolutionary wave that is sweeping the Arab world, and be aware that the era of dictatorship is gone and the dawn of liberty had dawned.

The Syrian government must start a radical reform at all levels of political, economic, and build a government that represents the people’s will and the right of participation of all components of the Syrian community in their self-determination.

“Waad” Also emphasizes that the Syrian regime and its president must take full responsibility for all the violence perpetrated by its security systems, and that they have no choice but to admit them. And it also condemns all the international and regional parties that are fueling violence in the country headed by countries affected by the Arab spring, the Zionist entity and the United States of America .

As we stand in solidarity with the Syrian people in their revolution, we emphasize the commitment to peaceful demonstrations and determine it as it’s the only way to freedom. And insists that the use of foreign Western powers would only be a bump which will lead Syria to colonialism that would be difficult to get rid of .
